I'm thoroughly enjoying your 10 day challenge so far. Your cues are spot on and execution even better. Loved the variation on saw.."it doesn't have to be beautiful, just keep moving" yet yours was beautiful!! An epiphany for me. With LS disc disease and spondylolisthesis, lumbar extension isn't my happy place, so I put off this class for a few days to think about it. Decided to go for it, and needless to say, I had to modify--forearm-only swan, tiny little swan dives, no backbend--BUT when all was said and done, my low back did not feel wrecked at the end, which is unheard of. And my thoracic spine and shoulders feel sooo liberated! The "use your strength" cue was key for me in this class, since I so often feel disadvantaged by my lumbar inflexibility. I'm excited to add this class regularly to my rotation to help strengthen my back body; not gonna worry about the back bend! Thank you!
I was not certain how far I would be able to progress since I have been dealing with a shoulder injury. Side bends hurt a little in the beginning; but I used my breath and moved slowly. I made it to the backbend - just 1 for today!! The ending side stretches felt so much better. Thank you for the build up and guidance!!!!!
