Sue Hamilton, in response to your question I believe all people can benefit from Pilates when being taught by the right person. we spend years learning how to address such issues as fusions of the spine and other spine pathologies. In the right hands it can be a miracle to the client. your second questions about equipment, well my favorite is the Trapeze table for rehabilitation but I love all the equipment. Maybe best to start with a Reformer that has a tower so you get the best of both until you can afford a full gym of equipment. Good luck!!!!
